Committee Meeting Schedule:  monthly or 2-3 times per term

 

Committee Rotation Schedule:  CCC staff are welcome to join this committee comprised of 2 groundskeepers, 1 plant services administrator, 1 Horticulture faculty, 1 Horticulture lab assistant, 1 Science faculty, 1 Science lab assistant, 1 Athletics faculty, 1 Secretary, Student reps from ASG 

 

Charge of Committee: To act as a sounding board for the Grounds Department and assist in planning and problem solving for the college's three campus sites. To act as a liaison for campus construction and development to see that the Landscape Values document components are fulfilled.

Goals/Objectives for Year:

 

Support the work of the CCC Grounds Department to uphold the Landscape Values for our campuses, while continuously integrating programs and activities throughout the outdoor areas of CCC Campuses.

 

 

Other Issues Dealt With, if applicable:

 

  • Numerous Special events that are campus-wide
  • Supporting development of CCC Community Gardens administered through Student Activities office
  • Working to coordinate landscape clean up and development including connections with OCHS Moss Campus, Scout projects, and Jogging Trail projects

 

 

Outcomes of Year’s Goals and Objectives:    

 

·         All three CCC campuses have had record usage which amounts to people pressure impacts on landscape plantings

 

·         Input received from campus community visitors and those which reside across the nation – all commented that Clackamas Community College is the most inviting and attractive campus landscape they have encountered

 

 

Current and Future Issues:    

 

·         Help to develop CCC Policy for space utilization of outdoor areas not to include designated instructional lab areas

·         Develop and maintain systems for landscape equipment sharing between grounds and horticulture departments

·         Develop two landscape areas (barren bed near Brod Community Center, bed at north end of Barlow Hall

·         Develop systems to incorporate instructional uses of campus landscapes while effectively and efficiently maintaining outdoor areas
